Cyclamen persicum "Indoor Cyclamen"

Cyclamen persicum is a perennial, herbaceous plant that reaches heights of about 30-32 cm. It is easy to grow and make excellent houseplants for beginners, or a lovely welcoming gift to brighten up a new home. The leaves are dark, moss green and intricately patterned with silver markings that remain attractive even after the flowers fade. The leaf margin is slightly thickened and usually serrated. The rounded, slightly flattened tuber is about 4 to 15 cm or more in diameter. The roots spring from the underside, and the tops of the spirally arranged, long-stalked leaves of the plant spring from the top.

Care

• Cyclamen require cool conditions, well away from central heating.
• Position them in bright light away from the direct glare of the sun.
• A bright porch, spare room is ideal, with a temperature range from 10C - 18C
• Keep soil most, avoid spraying water on leaves and flowers.
• Use well drained soil and fertilizer with seaweed fertilizer every 2-4 weeks.
